maki-san at the cathay

went to plaza singapura this afternoon for lunch and shopping after church. lunched at manna story and bought a chain for hubby's cross and a pair of diamond earrings for myself from citigems using my staff pass and birthday voucher. then purchased a really nice looking winter jacket from fox for office use. recently just changed seats in the office and i'm sitting directly under the aircon. freezing max and the direct wind blowing at my head gave me a mega headache that lasted the entire day. so i'm hoping this jacket which has a hoodie would be thick enough to protect my body and my head from the cold. lol.

after all the shopping, headed over to the cathay to catch argo. bought tickets for the 7pm show but it was like 530pm when we purchased the tickets. had one and a half hour to waste. so we went to gramophone to check out if there were any interesting movies to watch. wasted about half an hour inside till our legs were sore so we headed down to the basement to find a seat to rest our feet and maybe grab a bite as i was feeling kinda hungry.

and tadah!! i found maki-san! i think it has been open for 2 months plus? but i haven't been to the cathay for like ages already luh, so didn't know there was a new shop around. was super excited when i saw this...

DESIGN YOUR SUSHI & SALAD (like OMG?!? dream come true for me!!)

was even more excited when i saw that avocados were one of the filling choice. avocados are like, one of my top favourite fruits. eating them plain is awesome. eating them in a sushi is heavenly!! lol. was so excited i kept insisting on trying it out. hubby didn't really have the chance to say no. though he was rather unwilling. lol!

basically how it works is first you grab an order chit and a pen from the counter and tick whatever ingredients you want for your sushi or salad (just follow the instructions on the order chit. it's pretty straightforward and simple), then you simply pass your completed order chit to the staff and make your payment. after which you can either choose to stand by the counter and watch them prepare your order, or go back to your seat and wait for them to be done. do note that it's self service, sort of like bubble tea. so you have to pick up the order yourself after they call your number.

only tried the sushi so i'm not really sure about the price and ingredients available for the salad. here's the price list and a rough break down on what to expect on the order chit.

and here's what i ordered!

pardon the half eaten sushi. lol. as usual too excited, eat halfway then realise forgot take pic.

my mega san consisted of nori, japanese white rice, carrot, crabstick, sweet corn, two servings of avocado (if i had my way, out of five essentials, four would be avocado and one serving of corn - yes that's how crazy i am over avocado), salmon sashimi, pine nuts and japanese mayo.

first mouth, pure bliss i swear!! the creaminess of the avocado mixed with the mayo and salmon sashimi...words can't describe how heavenly it was!! hubby looked at me, smiled/laughed and said i looked very cute with the super gan dong (touched) and xin fu (blissful) expression. lol.

subsequent mouths were still as awesome. was telling hubby how i always thought those celebrities who tasted those delicacy always give those orgasmic, wanna cry kinda face were just acting and full of bullpoopie. i finally realised it is really possible to feel that way!! though i still think they exaggerated a lot luh. hahaha. i myself eat till i started tearing. simply because its really damn good. oh my...just typing about it makes me salivate. lol. think i'll end up dreaming of it tonight. >.<" can't wait to go back and have it again!!

now, if only the shop was located near my place...hubby and family won't have to worry about me not having appetite to eat proper meals again! :D

hubby still hungry i think....

done with dinner and otw to the cinema!
